Course content:
Preparation of culture media, working under aseptic conditions; surface sterilization and preparation of the source isolate (tissue); initiation and passaging of callus cultures and suspension cultures, explants; isolation of protoplasts; exercises to study the influence of periphysis, cyclophysis and topophysis on the establishment of cultures, mediated transformation by means of Agrobacterium, GUS assay

Learning outcomes:
Students will be experienced in the practical implementation of the techniques of in-vitro culture and protein analyses:
+ know how to establish, maintain, propagate different samples of plant tissues in vitro
+ handle the transfer to glass house conditions
+ be able to induce somatic embryogenesis
+ carry out transformation experiments
+ verify the transgenic status of plant material
+ analyse independently plant (fruit ) samples for the presence of allergens
