Course content:
Discussion of ecological and biological characters relevant for the growth and competitive performance of species from agricultural habitat types. Clarification of interactions between species specific characters and site conditions.
Suggestions for the management of the species from arable fields, meadows, pastures, abandoned, ruderal or protected areas.

Expected previous knowledge:
Basic knowledge about morphology, anatomy, ecology and systematics of plants are essential. Experience with the terminology in site ecology (soil, climate) and land use techniques helps a lot following the talks.
Learning outcomes:
Ability to apply of knowledge about ecology and biology of the plants in the agricultural landscape in the context of land use. Understanding the interaction of species specific character sets and systemic influences (soil, climate, seasonality, competitors, global change effects. Getting used to the options of manipulating plants from different agricultural habitat types positively or negatively (promotion or control).
Teaching and learning methods:
Presentations and discussions in the class room as well as in the field. Practical approach to the plants in the field to adress the relevant characters on specimens in the real world
Exam method:
The candidates cannot be approved for any final exam before having attended 3 out of 4 excursions. Presence and intensity of students activity during the excursions has an influence on the grading. The contents of excursions are also part of the subject matters of the final exam.
Final exam: written examination, 6 questions á 4 credits each. Maximum credits: 24 Minimum crdits for positive pass of the exam: 15,25
