Course content:
This course provides an overview of the principal tropical fruit crops. During lectures, general aspects of fruit production techniques and tree management are described as well as the detailed information about taxonomy, botany, uses, propagation and cultivation, harvest and postharvest handling of each species. Practical skills training such a various propagation techniques or recognition of different fruit species are performed during seminars.

Exam method:
To be eligible for the final exam the student must:
(1) Prepare and present short presentation about neglected tropical fruit species
(2) Participate in the excursion
(3) Pass successfully two fruit crop identification tests
