Course content:
The subject gives students overview about various grazing systems and grassland management, with focus on the needs of developing countries in tropical and subtropical regions. During lectures the technique of forage crops growing on arable land, pratotechniques on natural and permanent grasslands, the sources, use, harvest and possible conservation of forage are explained. Characteristics of the most important tropical forages species, organisation of forage production and opportunities of introduction of new more productive species of forage crops for various ecological conditions are explained. The subject form connecting part between animal and crop production and by this way supply total profile of graduates.

Exam method:
To be eligible for the final exam the student must: (1) Participate actively in class debates (2) Participate in the excursion (3) Submit and present one assignment
