Cereals and Pulses
The course provides an overview of the most important crop commodity groups: cereals and pulses cultivated in the tropical regions of the world as well as in temperate zones. General information about the species will be given in particular chapters: botanical description, ecology, husbandry technologies with the special focus on harvest and potential uses. Attention is also paid to the modern technologies, low-input technologies and possibilities of intensification of the production in tropics and genetic resources conservation.

To be eligible for the final exam the student must: (1) Participate actively in seminars and excursions. (2) Pass the recognition tests of collection of seeds and dry plants. (3) Present assigned work.
