Course content:
In this course, students will learn the basics of programming and will gain understanding of data types, data structures, operators, control structures, and functions. In the practical part, students will write code in Perl and Python.
Expected previous knowledge:
None
Learning outcomes:
Students are able to write small programs using variables, conditions, loops, and various functions to solve every-day programming tasks related to data analysis. Computational thinking will be augmented.
Teaching and learning methods:
The on-site time commitment for the students will be 2 SSt for the course.
Exam method:
• compulsory participation (Anwesenheitspflicht): for a positive grading the LVA needs to be attended on all days. Brief absences will be tolerated but need to be communicated in advance to the course instructors.
