Course content:
Chemical basis of life, structure and function of cells and basics of metabolism, of plant tissues and from meristem to primary and secondary tissues. Organs (leaf, shoot, root), their growth and morphology. Physiology: germination, movement, regulation via phytohormones, importance and regulation of light, water and nutrient supply, transport in plants. Botanical basis for ecological processes.
Learning outcomes:
Participants will have basic knowledge of the structure of seed plants from cells via tissues and organs to the whole plant body. They know development and metabolic processes, understand the relationship between structure and function and adaptations of plants to their environment. The course provides a sound basis for later courses related to biology.
Exam method:
written exam with 10 single choice (1 point per question) and 10 open questions (2 points each). In addition, up to 10 points can be obtained by active participation and solving tasks during the semester.
