Learning outcomes:

Students learn to recognize to identify local wood species (by eye and microscopically) as well as their characteristics and uses. Furthermore, students recognize special fibers (reaction wood) macroscopically and microscopically.
The students learn the most important wood fibers and the possibilities of determining the types of wood on the basis of fibers.

practical course. including macroscopic and microscopic Determination of wood

Exam method:

Two written tests. Both of them have to be above 50%. The first one is after finishing the first part (macroscopical determination, utilization of Wood and properties of Wood). The second is a the end (microscopical Determination).
