Expected previous knowledge:
ad field trip: <br>Since we do not yet know how many people are allowed to ride in one BOKU car, we ask you to tell us if you can travel individually by train or car. Please let us know via email (botanik@boku.ac.at) by May 18, 2021 at the latest.<br><br>We are also looking for students to volunteer as drivers for the BOKU cars (VW Transporter). If you are willing to do so, please send a copy of your driving license to botanik@boku.ac.at. The Institute of Botany is liable for any damage (exception: negligent act).<br><br>If you will not be able to participate, please let us know as soon as possible!<br><br>Thank you for your support!
Learning outcomes:
After successful completion of the course, the students have theoretical and practical knowledge of the biology, habitat preferences and belonging to habitat types. Their acquainted knowledge puts them in a position to use macrophytes as indicators and to assess their occurrence and endangerment in Austria.
The one-day excursion (compulsory) promotes the practical skills and knowledge of methods regarding sampling, description of vegetation as well as knowledge of species. In teamwork, the students can independently survey and assess aquatic habitats in a methodically equivalent way. On the basis of the aspects of conservation and EU guidelines presented in the course, they are able to employ and at least fundamentally assess these as well as to accordingly act in a responsible way.
Exam method:
1. Group protocols of the excursion day
2. Written exam, 6 questions (5 points each, 30 point overall) concerned with biology, bioindicators and habitat types
The marks are valued 50% each.

0-14 = 5
14,5-18 = 4
19-23 = 3
24-27 = 2
28-30 = 1
