Course content:
What is soil? factors of soil formation, the main soil constituents, physical and chemical soil properties, soil biology, soil as a porous system, soil in the centre of element fluxes, soil as plant habitat, soil classification, mapping, soil information systems
Learning outcomes:
It is the aim of the lectures to gain basic knowledge about soil science. The main tasks are to learn about soil physics, soil chemistry, soil biology and soil functions within the ecosystem.
Teaching and learning methods:
There are 6 examinations offered per year: beginning of July, end of September, November, January, March, May. The exact day and time is fixed app. 6 weeks in advance and can be obtained from the blackboard of the institute of soil research (Peter-Jordan-Strasse 82; Schwackhöferhaus, 2nd floor). Register in the BLIS.
