Excursion to an Austrian wine-growing area (probably Wachau) with visits to specific sites that have been well characterized for their soil and terroir properties. Discussion of the terroir aspects with local wine producers and their representatitves in terms of viticultural and oenological questions.
Expected previous knowledge:
Fundamentals of soil science (Soil Science Refresher - offered as part of this Modul)
Learning outcomes:
Interpretation of soil and terroir information (case study). Discussion of terroir aspects with experienced wine producers.

Participation and active involvement in discussions.
