Course content:
Principles, methodological as well as organizational questions of professional advisory services in agricultural and constructional engineering and of communication and knowledge management
Case study (Group work): Strategic and visionary planning for the further development of a farm (Farm of tomorrow), especially relevant is thematically relevant negotiation, knowledge management in agricultural and constructional engineering as well as profitability analysis (investments in technology and buildings)
Expected previous knowledge:
Students:<br>- apply principles and methods of constructional and agricultural engineering for good investment decisions<br>- solve existing problems for agricultural branches as well as for individual farms in a way that is based on information and knowledge<br>- develop sustainable operational investment strategies
Learning outcomes:
Students:
- recognize the meaning and function of communication
- apply thematically related negotiation and knowledge management in consultancy of agricultural engineering and construction and in profitability analysis for the solving of construction and agricultural engineering problems as well as for the successful further development of existing agricultural branches as well as individual farms
- demonstrate and develop a successful communication (according to the Harvard concept of issue-related negotiation)
- carry out a team work for a "Future Farm", develop a visionary and strategic plan for a farm for the next 15-20 years
- draft the knowledge management (IC-technologies, intelligent organization)
- know the role of consultancy and recognize its functions
- interpret the technical progress
- capture the need for quality control and assess the position of agricultural engineering and construction consultancy correctly (when new products are introduced)
- know the basic methodology of consultancy interviews
- understand the possibilities for further development of consultancy and education
Teaching and learning methods:
Lecture with medial support (Power Point slides) is used to communicate basics and methods of work science, promotion of method plurality and solution competenz is assisted by integration of teamwork, teamwork as a part of the lecture bring forward the interaction between lecturer and learners (students) as well as between learners (students).
Exam method:
Assessment of the reports that are based on the partial work of teams and of the presentation of their results.
The assessment has two tiers: Hard skills (60%) as well as soft skills (40%) are evaluated. Hard skills are an indication for the professional quality of the work. The presentation techniques (style of the presentation, documentation for the presentation) and team skills are assessed in the soft skills.

The course grade will correspond to the percentage points achieved, as follows:
=>90 % = very good (1)
=>78 % = good (2)
=>65 % = satisfactory (3)
=>55 % = adequate (4)
