Laimer: Plant viral diseases, molecular diagnosis (October 22 and 23, 2020)

Wieczorek: Nematodes and plant response (January 28 & 29, 2021; Tulln)

Adam: Bioassay Cochliobolus T-toxin, Fusarium mycotoxins (Trichothecenes und zearalenone). Polyketide biosynthesis. Plant detoxification genes (December 9 - 11, 2020; Tulln)

Wiesenberger: Fusarium species - overview, molecular species identification.
Transformation of Fusarium graminearum, plant infection (November 30 - December 2, 2020; Tulln)
Learning outcomes:
Getting hands on experience and an overview about the scientific fields of the participating groups.

Classical and molecular Fusarium Identification, basic knowledge on mycotoxins and toxicity assays. Introduction to nematods and plant virus interaction. (Methods, RT PCR, Agar diffusion test, reporter genes etc.).
Teaching and learning methods:
Practical course (with intro lectures), limited to 7 students
Exam method:
Participation in all 4 modules is obligatory. Evaluation based on practical performance and protocols.
