Course content:
The focus is put on the plant, its biology, ingredients, distribution and origin (evolution), as well as its requirements for successful cultivation in the context of conventional and organic production.
Expected previous knowledge:
Basic knowledge in plant physiology and biology is recommended.
Learning outcomes:
The economic importance and indispensability as food should be recorded on the basis of this lecture as well as on the basis of other lectures and experiences. Knowledge of cultivation methods for the most important vegetable species should be imparted as a result of the event.
Teaching and learning methods:
Lecture, discussion, demonstrations; due to the COVID-19 situation via zoom.
Exam method:
immanent examination character; 3 partial grades are awarded: after 5 lecture units (part 1), after 3 further lecture units (part 2) and after completing the excursion or fulfilling the replacement service due to the COVID-19 situation. The partial exams are wrriten ones, if the COVID-19 situation becomes more severe, the exams will be switched to online mode. The alternative service to the excursion will be sent by e-mail (the submission date will be given in the course).
