Course content:

Excursions to important parks of Vienna and other "public green". Analysis of the plantation in the green arrangements: Use of the woody plants (shrub, tree, hedge), advantages and disadvantages, space effect, demanded types of use to the open area and their effect on the woods. Demonstrate in problems of wood plantations in urban space (kinds/kind choice, tree protection, tree support, wood care).

Dendrology

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge about effect and duties of the woods. Use of domestic and foreign woody plants on typical examples in Viennese green arrangements, parks and gardens as hedge, single plantation and group plantation, as an boulevard and trees beside streets.

Teaching and learning methods:

Recordings, project in small groups, excursions

written and oral + attendance
