Expected previous knowledge:
Bachelor level in agriculture, horticulture, biology (plant sciences).
Learning outcomes:
When having finished the course, the student is able to understand and apply basic methods related to horticultural physiology. Passing the practical training course will also allow basic data analyis of experimental results, including critical questioning of the experimental setup and the basics for the interpretation of measurement results. In addition, students are able to acquire independently background knowledge in order to prepare reports and presentations.
Teaching and learning methods:
Demonstration exercises with seminar.

In the foreground of the course is the understanding of basic horticultural and plant physiological processes and their methodical understanding, which is communicated in demonstration exercises. In the course of the experiments also aspects of data analysis and interpretation are tought. Understanding of the contents of the course by the students is ascertained by reports of the experiments that have to be prepared. In addition, the course includes the preparation of a term paper to a selected topic.
