Course content:
Practical demonstration of the work in the vineyard with a focus on sustainable practices. The course will include -when possible- excursion/visits to wine producers
- training system and pruning methods,
- vineyard planning and new plantation
- soil analysis and fertilization
- organic viticulture and cover-crop management
- disease diagnosis and risk management
- canopy management
- ampelography
- berry ripening analysis
Expected previous knowledge:

Learning outcomes:
Students:
- decide and perform pruning to various training systems,
- can describe a vineyard area and their location,
- can assess diseases in grapevines,
- can apply and take measures to canopy management and selective harvest,
- ca decide soil management practices
Teaching and learning methods:
"hands-on"; students receive a brief introduction on the topic and then practice in the demo-vineyard at UFT
Exam method:
Continuos assessment + final Written exam
