Course content:
The course includes topics on genetic and genomic techniques that are used to investigate, understand and exploit traits related with plant resistance to stress and the production of improved quality products. These topics are approached through lectures, seminars and exercises that refer to molecular plant-microbe interactions, molecular signaling pathways, DNA handling tools and strategies as well as basic principles in bioinformatics.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of the course students should: 1) have acquired knowledge on the genetic and molecular basis of plant-microbe interactions, 2) be able to understand basic traits related with resistance to stress and quality, 3) be able to design strategies for developing genotypes showing improved quality and resistance to stress, 4) be able to use DNA analysis tools and 5) be able to exploit genetic databases

Oral presentation (10 min), written exercise, written exams
