Course content:

Montpellier attractiveness within the field of plant science is mainly due to the excellence of the scientific research and higher education network of Agropolis. However, this community is not well known by students. Similarly, some research units do not know the potential of the students from Montpellier SupAgro as future trainees or staff. This teaching unit aims fill this gap and to introduce the richness of the Montpellier scientific network in plant sciences, ecology and crop protection, through the discovery of Agropolis and participation to a scientific project specifically conducted within a research unit, supervised by our research partners.
After a short presentation of the scientific community of Montpellier, and an introduction of experimental procedures, the students will be hosted as small groups within local research units in order to integrate a specific scientific project, under the supervision of a local tutor. Studentís allocation will take into account individual wishes and hosting capacities of the different partners. In some research units, students will join specific training projects funded through Agropolis fondation. Once a week all students will meet at ìLa Gaillarde campusî to debate between them and with tutors.
Deliverables for the research teams at the end of the module can be: data analysis, public communication, surveys...
