Course content:
The objective is to understand plant development at the molecular level through integrative approach combining molecular genetics, genomics, cell biology, physiology, bioinformatics. This introductory course will showcase major breakthroughs in various plant development processes including flowering, seed and fruit development, sugar and hormone signaling, plant nutrition and response to cold. This will also be illustrated in a 22 h practicals where students will have the opportunity to investigate the molecular response of a germinating seed.
Expected previous knowledge:
Plant physiology, genetics, molecular biology
Learning outcomes:
You will be expected to:
- Design and carry out an experiment at the molecular level to understand plant development
- Carry out a basic bio-informatic analysis and a bibliographical synthesis
- describe different molecular regulators of plant development.
Teaching and learning methods:
Courses, conferences and practicals involving cooperative learning
Exam method:
1 hour evaluation : report based on lab work and lab skills
