Course content:

The course aims to offer an introductory vision on the mechanisms of pathogenicity and virulence of
pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi and oomycetes) that affect most agricultural crops. Also, the main techniques currently used in research in this field will be presented.
For this, the most current vision in these areas will be offered based on the avant-garde bibliography of the area.

At the end of this course, students will have acquired knowledge about the molecular basis of the mechanisms of pathogenesis and virulence of
main groups of pathogens and be able to transmit scientific results orally and in written form in 8 and English

Exam method:
Each student will analyse one or two research papers proposed by the teacher, making an oral presentation including a discussion based on the
knowledge acquired on the subject until that moment. The clarity in the exposition, the degree of knowledge of the aspects dealt with and the ability to discuss the results will be taken into account for the evaluation of the activity. The degree of participation of the rest of the students in the discussion of the will also be considered. At the end of the course a written exam will be carried out in which the degree of acquisition of the concepts will be evaluated.
