Course content:
The course aims to offer an introductory vision on the mechanisms of resistance of plants to pathogens and pests. Also, the main techniques currently used in research in this field will be presented. For this, the most current vision in these areas will be offered based on the avant-garde bibliography of the area.

At the end of this course, students will be able to extract, evaluate and synthesize the information coming from scientific communications and bases
of biological data (including field trials) in the field of Agroforestry Biotechnology, will know the molecular mechanisms of defense of plants against pathogens and
phytophagous arthropods and will be able to transmit scientific results orally and in written form in 8 and English

Exam method:
The evaluation criteria are basically based on passing a final exam that shows understanding of the subject (approximately 80% of the grade). The rest of the mark (approximately 20%) will be valued according to the understanding and presentation in class of a research article (journal club) taking into account, in addition, participation and attitude shown in class.
