Course content:
Molecular bases of the activity and fundamentals of the selectivity of a phytosanitary products. Mechanisms of resistance
to phytosanitary products and biocide molecules. Physical and chemical properties of phytosanitary products. Types of phytosanitary products:
herbicides, insecticides and their neurotoxic variants, and inorganic and systemic organic fungicides and not systemic Development of new phytosanitary products: implementation, field tests, evaluation of risks and production. Legislation and registration. Persistence and effects of phytosanitary products in the environment. Bases
of the phytosanitary product market.

Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, students will have acquired knowledge about the types and mode of action of the main phytosanitary products, their effect on the environment and human health, and the legislation that regulates them and about the biotechnological methods of screening and development of new products phytosanitary products, on their registration and applicable legislation; they will be able to extract and synthesize information from scientific communications and databases of biological data (including field trials) in the field of Agroforestry Biotechnology and to present the results clearly and precisely and interpret them;
