Course content:
Extention of Entomology: Morphology, biology, ecology and agricultural importance of arthropod groups of agricultural interest. Decision making in pest control. Thresholds. Control techniques in pests integrated management. Extension of plant pathology: Etiology and diagnosis. Main methods of control of plant diseases. Extension of Malherbology: Morphology and ecology and economic importance of main weeds.Weed control techniques and their relationship with crops, plants population dynamics and the environment. Toxicology.

Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, students will be able to distinguish the biological cycles and the ecology of the plague-causing agents, to acquire, develop and exercise skills for the collection, preparation and identification of specimens of the plague, to discriminate the nature of the disease and identify the principles necessary for a correct diagnosis and control, to identify the most important weeds of the different crops and to design and implement the control of pests, diseases and weeds through the use of economically and environmentally sustainable measures.

Exam method:
The evaluation will be based on a partial written exam at mid term, the reports elaborated ffor the lab practices and in the final written exam
